Women's Leadership
Training local women as menstrual health educators and supporting livelihoods that build confidence, independence, and dignity.

We believe that women should not only receive information and support, they should have the confidence, skills, and opportunities to create change for themselves and within their communities.
One way we do this is by building local women’s capacity to become menstrual health educators. Through our Training of Trainers approach, women can take the knowledge they receive back to their own communities and share it in ways that are familiar and accessible. In Humla, women who took part in our radio programs moved from being hesitant to speak openly about menstruation and reproductive health to confidently sharing their experiences on air. Using local languages such as Nyinbha and Khas Humla also helped make these conversations easier to understand and more meaningful for the community.
We also support livelihood opportunities that can help women and marginalized communities build confidence and greater independence. As part of our work, we have provided makeup training to members of the trans community, helping them develop a practical skill, build confidence, and create opportunities to work on their own terms.
For us, leadership is not only about having a formal position. It is also about having the confidence to speak, the skills to support others, and the opportunity to build a livelihood with dignity and greater independence.
