Menstrual & Reproductive Health
Practical knowledge about menstruation, reproductive health, hygiene, and reusable products, plus spaces where women can talk openly about subjects long surrounded by silence.

Menstrual health is at the heart of much of our work. We provide women and girls with practical knowledge about menstruation, reproductive health, hygiene, and reusable menstrual products, while creating spaces where they can openly discuss issues that are often surrounded by silence and stigma.
Across Humla, Upper Mustang, and Kavrepalanchowk, our programs have included menstrual health orientation, reusable pad-making training, community discussions, radio programs, and engagement with local government. Between February 2025 and January 2026, these activities directly reached 959 people, including 789 women, 65 men, and 105 people with disabilities. Our radio programs in Humla also reached an estimated 10,000 households.
The changes are visible in what participants learned. In Simikot, Humla, knowledge scores increased by 28.30% across all eight wards assessed, with every ward showing improvement. In one training in Mustang, 84.6% of participants improved their post-test scores. In another assessment, 95.2% of participants scored higher after the training.
But the impact goes beyond numbers. Field visits showed that many women still experience menstruation as a sensitive or shameful subject, with myths and restrictions continuing in some communities. Through training and open conversations, women have started speaking more confidently about menstruation and reproductive health. In Humla, women who initially felt shy speaking on radio gradually became more confident sharing their own experiences and knowledge with their communities.
Our work is about making menstrual health information accessible, practical, and relevant, so women and girls can manage their health with greater knowledge, confidence, and dignity.
