Climate Resilience & Disaster Preparedness

Community-based first aid and emergency preparedness for Himalayan communities with women's health and dignity kept at the centre of the response.

Climate change and disasters can make it harder for women and girls to access water, sanitation, healthcare, and menstrual products. They can also disrupt the support systems that communities depend on. For CCN, this makes climate resilience closely connected to menstrual and reproductive health.

We are developing our work in climate resilience and disaster preparedness with a focus on community-based first aid, emergency preparedness, and skills that help communities respond to emergencies. We also want to ensure that the menstrual and reproductive health needs of women and girls are not overlooked when communities face climate-related risks and disasters.

Our goal is to help build communities that are better prepared to respond to emergencies while keeping women's health, dignity, and needs at the centre of that response.
